The problem we are trying to solve

There are plenty of electronic devices, gadgets and mobile apps that rely on a number or an icon on a digital display to convey information, like temperature and time . The problem with this approach is that environmental conditions are feelings not numbers. We learn to interpret temperature readings like 8℃ as cold and 35℃ as warm. We try to explain to our children why they have to go to bet at 20:00 no matter if threre is still daylight outside.

Our Solution

And this is where we come in. We are determined to use every safe intelligent material available to create elegant and unique electronic devices. We believe that using these materials as a visual medium can provide a more intuitive representation of environmental parameters compared to a number or an icon shown in a display. We are not interested on mass produced plastic products made in developing countries. We want each of our customer to have a unique, custom made product that is designed and manufactured in France.

Who are we

Ilektra devices was founded in 2020 by Kyriaki Sapouna, an electronic engineer with a Phd in a type of intelligent material called Magnetorheological elastomer. We are a small, old fashion self funded company based at the amazing village of La Guerche de Bretagne in France.
